the German designer's homepage & learn about the unique features of
this high-performance boiler design. Conceived during WWII in response
to liquid fuel shortages, it was originally designed as a small, wood or
coal-fired high circulation boiler for powering trucks. Modern
Eckrohrkessel boilers evolved from that original concept & are in
use worldwide with capacities ranging from small auxiliary boilers up to
large utility boilers. They are widely used in Australia & examples
in New Zealand include a large woodwaste-fired power boiler at CHH
Kinleith Mill & at the opposite end of the scale, a small 5MW unit
used in a deer products manufacturing plant at Ottogi Foods in Takanini,
Auckland.
